Alaska special election results declared on Wednesday in which Mary Peltola, won the special election to fill Alaska's sole U.S. House of Representatives seat.

Democrat Mary Peltola outranked Sarah Palin & Nick Begich in the race and became the first Alaska native to represent the state in Congress.

Sarah Palin lost the special election against Mary Peltola. Palin is the state's first female governor who served on the governor's seat from 2006 to 2009.

Peltola on her official campaigning website, highlighted her status as "the only candidate in this race who isn't a multi-millionaire." 

Peltola will serve the Don Young's remaining term which is about to end in November this year. After that, She will have to face re-election on Nov. 8.

The Alaska special election was held to fill the representative's seat that was vacant after the sudden demise of Don Young, who was the U.S representative for Alaska.

The next elections are going to held by the end of this year where the winner candidate will fill the representative's seat for the next two years.

Democrat Mary Peltola, Sarah Palin, and Republican Nick Begich III will be seen contesting for the upcoming elections in November 2022.
